The reason why I made this dessert is because of my dad again.. he simply loves to eat fruits & he always buy a lot! Especially durians.. he knows we all love to eat durians, so if there are stalls selling durians, he will definitely buy a lot of good durians every week, even though the durians are so expensive & heavy! That's how my dad dotes on us ^_^
Last week, he bought a lot of fruits - 1x rock melon (cantaloupe) , 1x watermelon, 4x mangoes, 1x papaya, apples, etc.. My siblings and I each took one kind of fruit home and I chose the mangoes since my sister support the idea of having mango sago dessert next week during our family gathering.
The mangoes are not fully ripe, so I left them in my kitchen for a few days to ripe further. So just nice to use them to make mango sago dessert a week later.
I made a big pot of mango sago dessert, with generous amount of sago this time round. However 4x mangoes are not enough for a big pot of mango sago dessert. So the next day, my sister bought 3 more mangoes from the supermarket for me to add into the dessert. Now the amount of mango cubes are more proportional.
As my dad has bought pomelo during the Lantern festival, this is a good time to clear this fruit as well. With the help of my sister & niece, we have the pomelo flesh added into the pot of dessert.. a very generous amount of pomelo is added.. now the dessert has changed from mango sago to mango pomelo sago.
I made a big pot of mango pomelo sago dessert this time round.. thought there will be leftover but surprisingly, the whole pot of mango pomelo sago dessert is finished up by my family members by dinner time. Most of them have more than 1 serving of this dessert ^_^
